Panto Time - with Laurel and Hardy

Chelsea 1 - 1 Arsenal

After a slow start Shevchenko was on target with a shot that didn't trouble Lehmann. Chelsea then got on top for a while with Ballack and Lampard going close. Then Essien took a hand, but Fabregas was able to help Lehmann out, and clear off the line. So it was level at half time, with Chelsea having created the most chances, but crucially they had not scored.

After the interval some pettiness crept in, when Drogba and Lehmann were involved in a Laurel and Hardy type incident! Drogba seemed to think he should have been awarded a penalty, so Lehmann gave him a push. The striker retaliated, which was more amusing than serious, and the pantomime season had begun!

Somewhat against the run of play, Flamini put the Gunners ahead after a neat exchange with Hieb. It seemed that Mourhino's marauders were about to lose their unbeaten home record. Then in the 84th minute, Lampard slipped the ball to Essien who drove a pile driver into Arsenal's net.

Chelsea could easily have gone ahead in the closing minutes, with Lampard and Essien both hitting the woodwork. However, the game ended with a point each which was a fine result - for Manchester United!
