Chelsea Slipping

Chelsea 2 - 2 Reading

There is still a long way to go to the end of the season, but with Man United in consistent winning form, you would not expect the champions to be dropping points at home!

Drogba is to Chelsea what Ronaldo is to Man United. However, early in this game it seemed that the Ivory Coast man had left his shooting boots at home. He missed several chances to put the Blues ahead, before he powered in Lampard's cross in the 38th minute, to put his side in front at the interval.

Reading must have had a pep talk because they seemed more determined after the interval, and they were rewarded when Lito equalised in the 67th minute. However, within five minutes a perfectly flighted ball from Wright-Phillips found Drogba, who headed Chelsea back in front.

Reading continued to press and it was their pressure that forced Ashley Cole's desperate error. He flicked the ball across his own goalmouth, from where it rebounded off Essien into his own net giving Hilario no chance.

Chelsea were not up to expectations, but Reading deserved their share of the points.
