Wigan 2 - 3 Chelsea


After Frank Lampard and Saloman Kalou had scored in the 13th and 31st minutes it appeared that Chelsea were cruising towards an easy victory. However, their situation didn't look quite so rosy when Heskey got one back in first half extra time.


So although Chelsea had dominated the game before the interval, they were knocked back by the persistent home side. In the 78th minute Wigan got their reward when Heskey got his second goal, to put them level.


It seemed that a win had slipped from Chelsea's grasp, when in the third minute of the second period of extra time, Robben made a fine solo effort, with the ball rocketing into the net, just in time to give the champions maximum points.
