Kanu Beat That??

Portsmouth 2 - 0 Everton

This season Pompey are a revelation, and fully deserve to be up there with the best the Premiership can offer.

This was another great result for Harry Redknapp's revitalised team. Matthew Taylor's brilliant shot, from halfway up the pitch to catch the Everton keeper off his line, was almost miraculous! It must go down as the goal of the season, and was Boy's own, top drawer stuff to put Portsmouth ahead after 14 minutes.

Just when it seemed safe to go back in the water there was another shark bite. Kanu, who is having a great season, volleyed the ball past Howard and the home side were two up after 26 minutes. Everton nearly got one back, but Pompey have David James in goal, who was up to saving Beattie's shot.

Portsmouth resisted Everton's attempt at a second half comeback. Both sets of fans had been treated to some spectacular goal scoring, but unfortunately for Everton they were pounding the back of their net!
