Manchester Utd 3 - 1 Manchester City

United started out as hot favourites as City have not won at Old Trafford for 32 years!

An accurate pass from Ronaldo allowed Rooney to put his side ahead after only 6 minutes. Rooney was then denied a second goal as Distin spotted the danger and raced back. Despite having plenty of possession and some good chances, City failed to score. So it was United who went further ahead, just before the interval, when Saha bundled the ball home off the underside of the bar.

City were not done with and they came out fighting for the second half. They were rewarded in the 72nd minute, when Trabelski hammered a shot past Van der Sar, from 20 yards out. They continued to press an edgy United, until Gary Neville's pass found Ronaldo who smartly put the ball away, to seal their fate.

United go marching on, and they are now an inspiring nine points ahead at the head of the Premiership.
