Chelsea 2 - 2 Bolton

On a jittery day, Bolton went ahead 19 minutes into a game that Chelsea needed to win, to remain in touch with the illustrious Manchester United. Bolton defender Lubomir Michalek received a ball from Andranik, with unwilling assistance from Saloman Kalou, and forced it home. Chelsea responded immediately, but his time Kalou was available to beat Jaaskelainen with a low header, to level the score.

Chelsea piled on the pressure with good efforts from Wright-Phillips, Shevchenko, and Essien, but the Bolton Keeper was having none of it. That was until Kalou headed forcefully towards goal. There was a bit of a goalmouth mix up, and the ball finished up in the back of the net off Jaaskelainen, who was 'credited' with an own goal! So Chelsea were deservedly ahead at the interval, after which Shevchenko was replaced by leading scorer, Drogba.

In the 54th minute Chelsea were subdued, when their defence was penetrated, and Kevin Davies received the ball from a free kick, and beat Petr Cech with a powerful header. Despite the Blues best efforts, they were held by the visitors, and it seems that Manchester United, who were doing the business elsewhere, are now racing certainties to be the new champions!
