Liverpool 1 - 0 Manchester City

An uncharacteristic bad pass from Joey Barton, let Steven Gerrard in, to score what was to be the only goal of the match.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez was delighted to see Gerrard's first Premiership goal of the current campaign. City manager Stuart Pearce ruefully suggested, that if you hand Gerrard a ball like that 20 yards out, you deserve to be punished! He went on to say that's what happens when you make a costly mistake, playing a top-four club. However, Liverpool cannot claim such distinction until they start winning away from home, as they are currently in ninth position!

Bolton Triumphant!

Bolton 3 - 1 Arsenal

Faye put Bolton ahead in the 9th minute from Diouf's corner, and the writing was on the wall!

Things looked grim for Arsenal, when Anelka made it two up for the home side, just before half time. However, Silva struck back in the dying seconds of the first half injury time, and Arsenal were still in the game.

The Gunners ceased the initiative early in the second half, but their luck was out as they struck the woodwork three times! Then, in the 76th minute they were finished off, as Anelka got his second, and his sides third goal.

Yet again Bolton proved what a good side they are, as they moved up to third place in the Premiership.
